Here is one such artist to explore Lily Konigsberg. Her new project My Ideas, Konigsberg has capped the year with the release of her debut solo album. Lily We Need to Talk Now includes the previously shared track “That’s the Way I Like It.” Here is a taste of Lily Konigsberg with her song "Alone".
With his new remix album, Deciphering The Message, the Chicago-based drummer, producer, and beat scientist Makaya McCraven puts a modern bounce on Blue Note classics by Art Blakey, Horace Silver, and Hank Mobley, among others. Today, McCraven has unveiled the album’s fourth and final single “Black Rhythm Happening,” which is a funky remake of the title track of a 1969 album by the adventurous trumpeter and Sun Ra associate Eddie Gale. Deciphering The Message will be released November 19 on vinyl, CD, and digital download. Stream the playlist Deciphering The Message: The Originals.
McCraven hopes the album is both educational and an outright good listen. “I always want to make music that will connect with people in one way, where it makes them nod or feel something or transport them somewhere,” he says. “I also hope this makes them check out the source of this music. The music that we’re making now is part of the same route and is connected, so I want to honor tradition and release something that people can vibe to.”
Across numerous albums and mixtapes, McCraven has proven his mastery of the loop akin to hip-hop’s most celebrated beatmakers like Madlib and J Dilla, both of whom also found inspiration in the Blue Note catalog. With acclaimed releases like In The Moment (2015) and Universal Beings (2018), McCraven created his own lane in jazz by sampling his band playing improvised sessions throughout the world, then molding the audio several times to pull contrasting moods from it. For his previous project McCraven remixed Gil Scott-Heron’s final album I’m New Here into the equally emotive LP We’re New Again (2020).
The track listing for Deciphering The Message is as follows:
1. A Slice Of The Top (AKA “Sliced Off The Top”) [from A Slice Of The Top by Hank Mobley]
Poo Bear, one of the music industry’s most successful creative forces, has released his new single “Distant Shore.”
Co-written by himself, Nabeel Y. Zahid, Sasha Sirota, Luis Manuel
Martinez and Michael Michael, and co-produced by himself, Sasha Sirota,
and SHDNO the song encapsulates that of a siren’s call. Poo Bear sings,
“From across the vast and open sea / Was it your sole mission to enchant
me? / From across the ocean’s wide expanse / You’ve drawn me into your
mystical trance.” Between his impassioned vocal and the track’s
electronic, upbeat energy he has created the perfect song to dance to
all night long. This is the first track of many, as an album is on its
way.

agreement with Def Jam Recordings, a sub-label of Universal Music Group,
for his label Bearthday Music.
Poo Bear greets everyone by saying, “Happy Birthday.”
For as unexpected as it may be, it always incites a smile. Then again,
everything about the two-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated singer,
songwriter, producer, and entrepreneur is just as unpredictable. His
gracious demeanor belies a downright unbelievable career. Earmarked by

“Caught Up,” Dan + Shay’s “10,000 Hours,” and Chris Brown’s “I Can
Transform Ya” [feat. Lil Wayne & Swizz Beatz] as well as the
13-times platinum “Despacito (Remix)” [feat. Justin Bieber] for Luis
Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, his catalog has registered sales of over 350

The holiday season is just around the corner and Byron Bay, Australia siblings, The Buckleys have today released their Studio 54-inspired take on the Christmas classic, “Boogie Woogie Santa Claus.”
Following the release of their critically-hailed, neo-psychdelic post-punk album Looking For A Light earlier this year, Kitten Robot recording artists TOMBSTONES IN THEIR EYES (TITE) have now released a striking video for the track "I Can Hurt All The Time."
Shot in black and white, the cinematic video serves as a metaphor for the song's themes of depression and anxiety, featuring an unknown man covered in cracked body paint clawing at himself underwater in pain. Interspersed with footage of various dying flowersand a desolate, foggy forest fire, the footage projects the isolation and feeling of hopelessness that accompanies bouts of mental illness.
"The lyrics for 'I Can Hurt All The Time' were written, like almost all of my lyrics, in a stream of consciousness, singing and keeping whatever words come out the first time," says vocalist/guitarist John Treanor. "In this case, only one line was tweaked to better suit the song. So, this is what came out of my subconscious that night. And, having suffered from depression, it outlines a feeling that I have experienced: depressed, exhausted from not feeling 'good' and yearning for a good day."

"The music video was done by a gentleman name Jakub, who lives in Poland, and goes by the moniker Chariot of Black Moth," continues John. "He chooses the imagery based on the content of the song and in this case, at least, nailed it perfectly."
Attracting fans of desert rock, shoegaze, goth, and neo-garage without aligning themselves directly with any these camps, TITE have been creating a fuzzed-out, psychedelic swirl for the past few years. Now with Looking For A Light,TITE have shifting their sound ever-so-slightly while elevating it up a few notches. It is an album swathed in thick fuzz that allows its melodies to shine bright.
John concludes, "Like our other songs that deal with depression, the desire is that other folks out there who suffer similarly can relate with the feelings, know that they are not alone and that there is hope."
Tombstones In Their Eyes is John Treanor (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Stephen Striegel (drums, percussion), Josh Drew (bass, guitar), Paul Boutin (guitar, bass) and James Cooper (synths, midi-drum programming). Looking For A Lightwas produced by Paul Roessler and is out now viaKitten Robot Records / Somewherecold Records.

MEGHAN TRAINOR IS
“ROCKIN’ AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE”
WITH HER NEW SONG
ANNOUNCES A VERY TRAINOR CHRISTMAS DELUXE EDITION AVAILABLE DIGITALLY OCTOBER 29
Following the release of lead single "Are We Ridin" last month, indie rapper ToBy is proud to finally release his long-awaited debut album L'Esprit, which is out now via Magnetic Moon Records.
Tim Kelly announced Ride Through the Rain, his debut album produced by his son, acclaimed artist Ruston Kelly. The album is out on November 5 and includes nine original songs spanning from his teenage years to the present day, showcasing Kelly as an artist with relatable real-life songs and a perspective honed over decades. In addition to the announcement, Tim Kelly has offered the album’s first single, “Leave This Town,” along with a live performance of the song featuring Ruston.
“’Leave This Town’ goes from contemplating a decision to walk away from the familiar, from roots and relationships, to actually doing it, making a major life change with all the uncertainty that goes with it,” explains Kelly, “If the soul is the truth of who we are, then music is the path to the soul for me.”
Drawing on modern sounds as well as the ‘70s songwriters he admires, Tim Kelly is realizing a lifelong dream with Ride Through the Rain. Telling his story in thoughtful songs such as “Leave This Town,” Kelly fulfils the promise he showed many years ago, before he traded his musical ambitions for a manufacturing career that provided for his family but never quite fed his soul. “I kept the day job, but there have been very few days in my life that music hasn’t been some part of it, even if only for an hour,” Kelly says. So, after more than three decades of multi-year work assignments across eight states and Europe, he stepped away, trading an office for a writer’s room in Nashville. After touring with Ruston as his pedal steel guitarist and playing on his last two albums, Kelly was prodded by his son to finally make a record that captured his own expressive voice.
“Seeing this album come to life is a dream come true for both of us. I’ve tried to get him to record these songs for years, over many breakfasts and many conversations on tour,” says Ruston. “His songs are the reason I write songs. They are masterfully written and beautifully performed by a man who has really seen it all. It’s pretty rare for a father’s album to be produced by his son and I definitely don’t take it for granted how special that is. I’m just so proud of him as my dad, as a person, and as an artist fulfilling a lifelong dream.”
Tim Kelly first became curious about the guitar after hearing his brother’s vinyl copy of The Ventures’ Walk, Don’t Run. Later, after hearing Jackson Browne’s version of “Take It Easy” for the first time, Kelly was inspired to learn pedal steel guitar. As a young adult, he played in bands, joined his college pop and jazz ensemble as lead guitarist, and won talent competitions as a singer-songwriter around Texas. However, as a newlywed, he made the decision to follow in his father’s footsteps and take a job in the company where his father had worked for decades.
“I’m incredibly fortunate and grateful to be able to make a record at this point in my life,” says Kelly, “and I don’t think it’s the last thing that I’ll do.”
